State Representative Dan Swanson and Mercer County Schools hosted a Pay It Forward Blood Drive in Aledo on October 30th at Mercer County High School gymnasium.
“I am proud to have partnered with Mercer County School District to host this October community blood drive,” said Rep. Swanson. “According to the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center, over 30 units of blood were donated from over 40 presented donors. Nineteen of the donors were first time blood donors. Because the school achieved their goal with this event, they will receive a $250 grant from Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center.”
“All the students were very courteous and student council members especially helping and reassuring other students, as well as providing refreshments at the donor recovery site,” Rep. Swanson observed. “I was so impressed with these young leaders.”
