Rep. Dan Swanson spends day at Western Illinois University

State Representative Dan Swanson spent the day at Western Illinois University in Macomb on Friday, February 4th learning more about the great things happening on campus.

While on campus, Rep. Swanson participated in a campus tour, a meeting with Dr. Guiyou Huang, President of WIU, met with Dr. Andy Baker in the Agriculture Department, Chaplain Ron Pettigrew and LTC Oborski regarding Veterans Services in the Military Science Department, Dr. Jill Myers in the Law Enforcement and Justice Administration Department, Dr. Ranessa Cooper in the Biology Department, and Dr. Buzz Horn in the Broadcasting & Journalism Department.

One of the highlights of the visit beyond engaging with the students and faculty was discussion about the increased freshmen to sophomore retention rate at WIU. Rep. Swanson plans to visit campus again during the Spring.
