Current Illinois driver’s licenses or ID cards will continue to be accepted at airports, military bases and secure federal facilities until May 7, 2025.
Although your Illinois drivers license or ID card are still accepted, please don’t wait until May 6, 2025 and expect to walk into a license facility and get your new card. The documentation required can sometimes take a couple of days to gather.
