It was a beautiful evening for the Mercer County Fair tractor pull and livestock auction over the weekend.
Every year community members really open up their pocketbooks to support the Mercer County Youth Livestock Auction. This year they raised $72,000, almost an auction record. I got to be a part of the fun as a ring man and I auctioned a couple beef. The boys and girls work with these animals everyday to get them “show” ready and provide the correct feed ratios to achieve a good weight of gain or converting the feed to pounds of gain.

It was another beautiful night and great crowd at the Knox County Fair. Congratulations to the Knox County Fair committee on the decision to move the stage and concert location to the open area. “The show must go on!” Also thank you to Sheriff Harlan and Knox County deputies for being so professional keeping the traffic moving and visible. Also, First Responders were ready and available if needed.
