Thank you Monmouth Kiwanis for outstanding pancakes, sausage and all you do for the Monmouth community. Great support from the community and surrounding area.
Afterwards I went to a Choose to Thrive wellness day at Galesburg High School. Teachers, administrators and staff all participated in a wellness day with individual and team events. Several local community agencies were on hand to share their community services. I enjoyed visiting several sessions and visiting with many people. The young boy holding the cupcakes is also the baker. He had several dozens available.

We also celebrated Pat Moore’s 104th birthday. She was honored at a party at Heritage Woods. I presented her a House certificate recognizing such a special day.

I asked about some of her fondest memories. She mentioned her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and thought she had a great-great grandchild. She loved her yellow Buick. I commented that World War I had just ended, the roaring 20s were just beginning and a man by the name of Babe Ruth was making history in baseball. Several family members were there celebrating.
Happy Birthday Pat!
